Course Overview 

The Project Management Professional (PMP) Exam Preparation course is designed to prepare you for the PMP exam taken through the Project Management Institute (PMI)®.

The Pennsylvania State University is a PMI Authorized Training Partner (A.T.P.) and is committed to enhancing the ongoing professional development of PMI Members, PMI-certified Project Management Professionals, and other project management stakeholders.

This 35-hour course will focus on not only the tools and techniques used to better prepare for the PMP exam, but also the instruction surrounding the different types of methods and strategies on how to take the exam. The course will provide the necessary guidance throughout the entire process of applying for the exam, as well as what is required to keep the certification upon successful completion.

This program offers only the highest caliber of instructors, who not only teach within the Project Management Certificate Program, but also come into the program having years of real-world experience. This expertise provides you with the knowledge and skills needed for success.

Prerequisite

You must be familiarized with The Project Management Institute’s PMBOK® Guide.

Who Should Attend

Keep in mind that, although this course is open to anyone preparing for PMP exam administered through Project Management Institute, there are eligibility requirements you must meet before applying and taking the exam. Review the requirements online.

Course Objectives

Throughout this 10-week preparation course, you will focus on how best to prepare for, study for, and take the PMP credential examination.

Included in the key areas of study will be topics such as project initiation, creating high-performing teams, collaboration with and engaging stakeholders, how to determine appropriate project methods and practices, managing the schedule and scope of a project, evaluating business and environment changes, and how to mitigate risks within the project. All of the topics are in line with the methodologies driven through PMI.

Successful completion of this course ensures that you'll meet the 35-hour education requirement in order to apply for and take the exam and that your education will not be subject to audit.

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are awarded based on a standard of one unit per ten (10) hours of classroom contact.
